Charlotte Pearce Cornish

Director

I started my career with New Schools Network and was heavily involved in setting up their Development Programme and supporting the first waves of Special and AP Free Schools in 2011 and 2012. Since then, there has not been a day that I have not been involved in some way or another with the free schools programme.

While the policy is now over a decade old, there is still a lot of unfinished business for the programme, most notably in Alternative Provision – a particular passion of mine – but also across all types of school. We are very much looking forward to getting started and to supporting and advising proposers to set up the very best new schools so they can provide the first-class education places that children and young people deserve.

Lead Advisor

As an advisor, I provide tailored support and advice to free school proposers. I joined Premier Advisory Group in 2021 after receiving a first-class degree in Philosophy and Ethics at university. This fostered a passion in social policy relating to education and inequality, I believe equal opportunity in life starts with providing an inclusive education.

Since then, I have worked on countless free school bids assisting pre-opening projects and successful applications, to closely support charities, local authorities and multi academy trusts with turning their education vision into a reality.

advisor

I joined the Create: Schools team in August 2022 as part of a placement year to contribute towards my degree. Having studied Politics at university, I have developed a deep-rooted interest in the education sector and ensuring children from all backgrounds across the UK are able to access outstanding education.

As an advisory intern with Create: Schools, I work closely with proposers to discuss and review free school applications. My role has aided my development of a deeper understanding of the free schools application process, allowing me to provide applicants with in-depth advice and actionable feedback in order to support the writing of high-quality free school bids.

advisor

I joined PAG in June of 2022 after working as a teacher, curious to learn more about education policy and eager to continue improving outcomes for young people. During this time, I have worked with a range of muti-academy trusts and local authorities to help bring the educational visions they have for their learners to life. I rapidly gained a wealth of experience in the realm of bid-writing and deepened my understanding of what constitutes an effective and solid bid.

As an advisor with Create Schools, my focus is now on directly supporting proposers with their queries surrounding free school bids and assisting with the application process itself, consequently helping young people access the most appropriate and highest quality of education possible.
